We’re all about keeping our communities connected—and that goes far beyond internet and phone lines. We’re proud to be a long-time sponsor and partner of the Centre Wellington Swim to Survive program, an initiative that’s helping local kids build confidence and life-saving skills in the water.
Every year, hundreds of Grade 3 and Grade 7 students across Centre Wellington take part in Swim to Survive lessons. They learn how to roll into deep water, tread for one minute, and swim 50 metres. These might sound like simple steps, but they’re powerful, proven techniques that can truly save lives.
For us, sponsoring this program is more than just a feel-good moment. It’s a commitment to safety, education, and accessibility. Many families in our area don’t have regular access to swimming lessons, so the fact that this program includes transportation and full support for students makes it all the more meaningful.
We want to encourage all families in Centre Wellington to take advantage of this amazing opportunity. If your child is in Grade 3 or Grade 7, be sure to look out for information from your school—and sign them up when the time comes! It’s fun, active, and most importantly, it could one day make all the difference.
From our family to yours, thank you for letting Wightman be a part of something that matters.
Let’s keep making waves—together.
