Part-Time Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

September 29, 2026

Location: Clifford, Ontario
Hours: Part-time, approximately 2–3 days per week
Department: Marketing

About the Role

Wightman is looking for a high-energy, creative and confident Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to bring our brand to life across our social channels.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves people, content, video and creativity. You’ll be out and about across our offices, departments, communities and job sites capturing the people, projects and moments that make Wightman unique.

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t need to be told what to post every day. You’ll have a content plan and direction from the Marketing team, but we want you to have the creativity and initiative to spot a great story, grab your phone or camera and make it happen.

You’ll also be comfortable being on camera yourself and helping employees and customers feel comfortable in front of it.

What You’ll Do

Content Gathering

  • Visit Wightman offices, departments, job sites and community locations to capture photos and video.
  • Identify interesting people, projects, stories and behind-the-scenes moments that can become social content.
  • Build a library of authentic photo and video content that showcases Wightman and our people.

Video Content Creation

  • Film short-form videos for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other digital channels.
  • Create employee features, behind-the-scenes content, service and project videos, community stories, educational content and trend-based social content.
  • Be comfortable appearing on camera and encouraging others to participate.
  • Interview employees, customers and community members when appropriate.

Video Editing

  • Edit short-form videos for social media.
  • Trim and organize footage, add captions, text, music, graphics, transitions and Wightman branding.
  • Repurpose footage into multiple pieces of engaging content.
  • Understand what makes people stop scrolling and keep watching.

Sponsored Events & Community Activities

  • Attend select Wightman-sponsored events and community activities to capture photos and video.
  • Look for opportunities to create content before, during and after events.
  • Help showcase Wightman’s involvement in the communities we serve.

Social Graphics

  • Create engaging social media graphics and posts using Canva.
  • Adapt planned campaigns, promotions and current events into social-friendly content.
  • Maintain consistency with Wightman’s brand standards and visual identity.

Content Planning & Trend Monitoring

  • Contribute creative ideas to the social media content calendar.
  • Proactively identify content opportunities throughout the business.
  • Stay current with social media trends, emerging content formats, popular sounds, platform features and changing audience.
  • Identify trends and creative opportunities that could be adapted authentically for Wightman.
  • Stay up to date on what is working across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
  • Turn everyday Wightman activities into interesting, timely and engaging stories and content.

Scheduling & Publishing

  • Prepare and schedule social media content using HeyOrca.
  • Ensure content is accurate, timely, on-brand and appropriately formatted for each platform.

Community Engagement

  • Engage with local businesses, organizations, customers and community partners.
  • Help build Wightman’s presence and relationships within the communities we serve.

What We’re Looking For

The right person is energetic, outgoing, creative and confident. You don’t have to be an influencer — but you do need to understand what makes good social content.

You are someone who:

  • Is comfortable and confident on camera.
  • Has a natural ability to connect with people.
  • Has a strong creative eye and an understanding of good design.
  • Loves taking photos and shooting video.
  • Can edit short-form video and create social graphics.
  • Stays current with social media trends and knows how to recognize opportunities to make them relevant to Wightman.
  • Understands what makes people stop scrolling and engage with content.
  • Can take an idea and run with it without needing every detail spelled out.
  • Is proactive and constantly looking for the next content opportunity.
  • Has excellent communication skills and a positive, enthusiastic personality.
  • Is organized and able to manage multiple pieces of content at different stages.
  • Can represent the Wightman brand professionally in the community.
  • Is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with the Marketing team.
  • Has a strong attention to detail and an eye for visual storytelling.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience creating social media content, video or digital marketing content.
  • Experience with Canva and social media platforms.
  • Experience with video editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar is an asset.
  • Experience with HeyOrca or another social media scheduling platform is an asset.
  • Photography/videography experience is an asset.
  • A portfolio or examples of social media content you’ve created is strongly encouraged.

The Schedule

This is a part-time position, approximately 2–3 days per week, with flexibility depending on content needs and events.

The role will involve a combination of office-based work, travel between Wightman locations and time in the community. Some evening or weekend availability may occasionally be required for sponsored events and community activities.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means Wightman feels alive on social media.

Our content is current, authentic and engaging. We’re regularly showcasing our people, our communities, our technology, our projects and the work happening behind the scenes.
