Technical Support Representative (part-time)
We are seeking a part-time Technical Support Representative to work out of our Hanover office. The successful candidate will provide technical support including but not limited to troubleshooting internet, television, and phone-related calls. Some outbound customer follow-up will be required in the event of an escalation. The successful candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills, and will work in a fast-paced environment, which requires him/her to be flexible and a self-starter.
Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service while diagnosing end-user queries with listening skills and an analytical approach.

Responsible for troubleshooting, testing, researching, and analyzing a wide range of inquiries.
-
Provide prompt and complete resolution to customer support cases.
-
Fully document customer incidents and requests.
-
Work with other departments to communicate and resolve customer inquiries.
-
Communicate with customers regarding the status of their escalation.
-
Remain current on new developments and changes in technology and services offered.
Qualifications:
-
1-2 years proven experience in a related customer service field; call center experience preferred.

Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
-
Technically savvy including experience with personal computers, peripherals, operating systems, software, and computer technology.

Detail oriented.
-
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
-
Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

Extreme attention to detail and accuracy, as well as excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work in a 24/7 environment is required as successful candidate could be scheduled to work days, afternoons, or overnights on a rotational basis.

Outside Plant Technician
We are seeking an Outside Plant Technician for installation and maintenance of Wightman's products including phone, internet, and television. The successful candidate's interactions and ability to listen and understand the customer's inquiries will be critical to the success of this role and overall customer satisfaction. Work hours will be flexible and include evenings and weekends as scheduled, and overtime as required.
Responsibilities:

Installing business and residential phone, internet, and television lines.
-
Installing and splicing fibre optic cable in a residential setting.
-
Terminate cat 5/6 wiring onto Optical Network Terminals.
-
Configure set-top boxes and modems for Wightman services.
-
Troubleshoot and diagnose customer issues with test equipment.
-
Follow processes and implement customer solutions as indicated on the orders.
-
Document all work completed to ensure accurate billing.
-
Respond to after-hours outages as required.
-
Follow all Wightman and industry safety practices.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Solid understanding of the telecommunications industry - with a focus on telephone plant.
-
Superior job task planning, organizing, and implementation abilities.

Excellent oral communication skills.

High level of time management skills.

Teamwork - working effectively with others.

Customer responsiveness.

Problem solving.

Post-secondary education in Electronics preferred.

Previous experience cabling for telephone and television in both business and residential environments.

Strong knowledge of fibre optic cabling and splicing.

NCAA or equivalent.

Previous experience in telecommunications an asset.

Working knowledge of the following solutions would be beneficial:

MetaSwitch Class 5 feature functionality and line-testing capabilities.

Conklin IPTV Middleware provisioning and Amino set-top box programming.

Set-up and troubleshooting of home and small business data switches, routers, and LAN configurations.

Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
